Left to right: Mac Pro Longwear Lipcreme, Maybelline Superstay 24 colour and Rimmel Apocalips Matte Lip Velvet
First up we have Mac Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Positively Dashing. This is a really nice warm colour and you can get a nice just bitten look or a much stronger colour depending on how much you apply. The lip pencil is also Mac in Beet and is a pretty perfect match for this lipstick. This is my go to lippy right now, it is a great choice for an everyday colour and is not too bold or in your face.
Along with being a gorgeous colour this lipstick is really pigmented so lasts all day. I normally swear by lipcoat if I'm wearing a normal lipstick (rather than a 24 hour one) but you really don't need it with this. Low maintenance make up is a must for me, I want to apply once in the morning and that is it - none of this reapplying all through the day!
Next is Maybelline Superstay 24 colour in Cherry Pie. I love this colour, it is really warm, deep red.
The 24 colour last so well, it looks exactly the same at the end of the day as it did when first applied.
I have spoken to other people about this product who have not had the same results as me and don't feel it lasts. Here are my top tips for making it last all day:
- First of all make sure you apply to dry lips with no lip balm on underneath.
- I take most of the colour off the wand applicator to begin with and line my lips.
- Load up the wand and fill in the rest of your lips.
- Leave it for about 5 minutes to dry completely before applying the balm on top.
Last but certainly not least is Rimmel Apocalips Matte Lip Velvet in Meteoric Matte. I wrote a review on this product last year which you can read here.
I love this warm berry shade now as much as I did last year when I first bought it.
Do you change your lip colour depending on the season? What are you go to autumn colours?
