Autumn/winter is by far my favourite season. As much as I love the pastel colours of spring/summer the mustard yellows, forest greens and maroons of autumn are perfect for my pale complexion and red hair. Also living in bonnie (but cold) Scotland where we don't get much use out of a spring/summer wardrobe the arrival of collections for the colder months in the year is always welcome!
A few weeks ago I attended the House of Fraser AW15 preview to get a sneak peek at what we will be treated to to keep us warm in the coming months. The event was held at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow and it was a beautiful venue for it. We were greeted with cocktails, one of which tasted like liquid parma violets!
As well as racks of clothes there were mannequins wearing the outfits and models wearing gorgeous party dresses. My favourite collection of all was Biba, I have not been able to stop thinking about the amazing forest green coat and a green lace dress with a black collar.
Along with staple pieces for your autumn/winter wardrobe there were also some pretty fabulous party dresses ideal for a Christmas party and so many pretty bags.
We are going to see even more of the 70s vibe for autumn/winter with a bit of a rock n' roll edge. Also expect to see the military trend with a dark palette and masculine feel, bright pops of colour - think acid yellow and red and of course what would autumn/winter be without a bit of faux fur?
