When I was a teenager I was lazy when it came to a proper skin care routine, I was also pretty lucky too. My skin was normal, I didn't have many spots and if memory serves me I didn't even use a face wash daily. My routine was remove make up at night (the one skin care rule I did normally follow) and moisturise in the morning.
Over the last couple of years I have tried to get myself into much better skin care habbits, using a face wash in the morning and oil control moisturiser since my skin type seems to have changed in my adult years.
When January hit so did the full realisation that I'm getting married this year and the pressure is on to be the most beautiful version of myself I can possibly be.
With this in mind I knew I had to get my act together and start following a proper routine.
Every morning I use Clinique 3 step skin care. I wash my face with Clinique facial soap while in the shower, this is then followed up with clarifying lotion 3 (for oily/combination skin) which gently exfoliates your skin. The last step is Clinique dramatically different moisturising gel which is great for skin that is prone to getting shiny throughout the day.
This was the harder part of the routine to get into, no longer just a quick swipe with face wipes and convince myself all my make up was off (it was not). To start I remove my eye make up with Clinique take the day off make up remover and then I use Garnier micellar cleansing water to get most of my foundation off. I then use Balance Me pure skin face wash followed by clarifying lotion 3. I prefer to use a night cream for moisturising before bed as I'm quite prone to areas of dry skin around my nose. The one I use is actually from Aldi, it is a nice thick consistency and is suitable for all skin types, my skin feels nice and soft the next morning.
Once a week I also use a face mask just to give my skin some extra TLC. I really like Nip + Fab deep cleansing fix which can be left on for 10 minutes and used as a mini mask. Any pesky spots are treated with Witch blemish gel.
Having to part with so much money for Clinique products does make me weep slightly but I do feel it is worth it, any breakouts I have had since I started using it have not been too bad and have cleared up well.
