Make mine a smoothie

For the last ten months I have been on a bit of a health kick, so when we opened a Nutribullet on Xmas morning from my Dad and Stepmum we were pretty excited!  Over the years we have bought blenders and smoothie makers when they were on sale with the best intention to use them, but they haven't got much use at all.  They have all proven too much bother to clean and actually don't really work that well.

The Nutribullet is completely different, the blades are in a lid that you screw onto the tumbler.  Making it ridiculously easy to clean.  It is also so compact that it takes up next to no room which is perfect for me as we don't have a lot of worktop space.

For my first smoothie I decided to go for the toxin blaster.  The ingredients for the toxin blaster are: 1-2 handfuls of spinach, 1 banana, 1 apple (cored), 1 pear (cored) and 1 cup of pineapple.

Once you have all the ingredients in the tumbler fill up to the max line with water, pop on the lid and put it on the base.  It takes less than a minute to turn everything into a smoothie, and it tastes pretty yummy.

Most of the recipes include some sort of leafy green vegetables, I was a little bit unsure of how this would taste but there is enough fruit in it that it tastes sweet.  One of the large tumblers makes enough for two people, and these are a great way to start your day.

I'm really pleased with our Nutribullet and there are loads of recipes which I am looking forward to trying!

Did anyone else get a juicer/smoothie maker recently?  I would love some other recipe ideas!
